Jet reports for Dynamics Nav / Navision

Jet offer a report utility that integrates with Excel and links to your Dynamics Nav database.

It is an alternative to report writing in Dynamics Nav. Report writing in Dynamics Nav requires the user to undergo some form of super user training (at least we would recommend that) but once Jet is installed and the database added as a link, Jet may be learned directly from web videos.

The steps to get Jet up and running are straight forward:

1. Install the jet application on each user's Excel application.
2. Create a link within the Jet Excel Add in to the Dynamics Nav database.
3. Create the report in Excel from the Jet add in menu group.

We offer this service for all versions of Navision/ Dynamics Nav though if you are using an earlier application version to Nav 2009 R2 you will need to have paid for Jet Report.

We do not sell Jet licences. These are sold through Microsoft Solution Partners.

Jet Basic is free for the Dynamics Nav 2009 application onwards.

You may use a Dynamics Nav 2009 R2 application with an earlier version of database objects. So you will be able to use Jet Basic if you are using Dynamics Nav 2009 applicaton with a version 4 database, for example.

The training for Jet consists of an element of super user training which provides users will the knowledge to know where data is held by table and Jet report design using the Jet wizard.

There are a lot of videos available on line to provide tuition on using the Jet report wizard so we really add value with the super user training.

To provide this training on site, each user needs access to the Dynamics Nav database (Classic 2009 and before, Development Environment 2013 onwards) and Excel / Jet installed on their PC.

Like our other report writing services, this is an off site service and we develop reports to your specification. The only difference is the specification needs to be compatible with Excel - obviously. We then provide a quote and will deliver remotely either via email or RDP.

We will need a backup of your live database which we will then restore to a local PC here and create a Jet connection in Excel.
